26 PLACE VENDÔME

FRÉDÉRIC BOUCHERON OR THE CREATION OF A MAISON

When Frédéric Boucheron created the Maison in 1858, he asserted himself as a man with an enlightened and bold spirit; a visionary, in addition to his perfect expertise of the jeweler’s art. He was an adventurer who went straight to the foot of the mines to acquire the most beautiful stones, he was a pioneer of style and technique whose inventions were rapidly hailed at the Universal Exhibitions, he was a man in constant search of excellence and innovation.

Passionate about beauty and Parisian architecture, he opened his first boutique at the Palais Royal, which soon became a sought-after Parisian location.
In search of an even more exclusive address, he moved to the Place Vendôme in 1893, becoming the first of the great contemporary jewelers to ever open a boutique there. Fascinated by light, he chose number 26 for its exceptional situation, where the sun’s rays shine on the stones from dawn till dusk.

MORE THAN A PRIVATE MANSION, A FAMILY HOME AND AN “ART DE VIVRE”

By choosing to settle in the former Nocé Hôtel Particulier in 1893, Frédéric Boucheron created a showcase that would later be established as a historical monument, in 1930. He managed to preserve and enhance the architecture of this welcoming and precious place.

More than just a location, he established an art de vivre, by welcoming his clients as if they were in their own home, at the very center of the Maison’s creation. Indeed, there reigns an exceptional atmosphere, imbued with a genuine “family spirit”, a spirit preserved and adapted by the successors of Frédéric Boucheron who each contributed their own style and personal touch.
At 26 Place Vendôme, the special atmosphere gives the impression of entering a private home and being welcomed into a family.

FOUNDER OF FRENCH HIGH JEWELRY

More than one hundred and fifty years later, the Boucheron atelier (workshop) has become legendary and continues to create and perpetuate the savoir-faire of the Maison.
The craftsmen pass on, from generation to generation, a unique savoir-faire that perpetuates the tradition of excellence which defines the Maison Boucheron. Imbued with this aura and strength, today’s technical innovations will become tomorrow’s jewelry classics.

When founding the Maison, Frédéric Boucheron aimed to create a dynasty: a dynasty of creators and also one based on the passion for the exceptional which he shared with his clients. For a Boucheron jewel is not a passing luxury: its vocation is to be handed down through generations as a remembrance of the joyful moments of the family who welcomes it.
